No Drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

2019-02-11

Recently, I submitted a testimony opposing drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to be read during a hearing held by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in D.C. this week. Although the hearing this week is the only public hearing they plan to hold in the lower 48 states, you still have an opportunity to comment before March 13th. You can submit a testimony directly to their website here, or through Defenders of Wildlife. I’ve included my

Ember’s Dollhouse

2019-01-08

When I think back on the things that most captured my imagination as a child, my dollhouse instantly comes to mind. My dad built the house and my mom made all the soft interior things. Sadly, I no longer have this perfect little house, and yet, every detail is imprinted in my mind. This sweet memory has inspired me to create something similar for Ember. We found the perfect house and furniture at Bella Luna Toys and as soon

Interview with Wayward Roots

2018-04-08

It’s moments like this one captured by Lauren Lipscomb of Wayward Roots that make me appreciate where I am. It’s easy to get caught up in the future, the financial worries, the next idea, and its viability. I find so much joy in the day to day, my biggest fear is not being able to continue doing exactly what I’m doing. Lauren’s imagery and attention to the store give me pause to appreciate everything as it is in the here

Home — A Poem

2018-02-25

This poem came from a dream. A dream rich in its visual texture. One that I knew would be hard to capture, yet might be free to emerge in the context of a poem.

Shop Manifesto

2018-02-21

I love the shop, especially supporting artists and small, women-run businesses. I thrive on aesthetics and see my gift as offering beauty and simplicity. Still, I struggle with the commerce side of things. Is it truly mindful when the bottom line is always to sell more stuff?

Earth Friendly Gift Ideas

2017-12-08

I always feel conflicted this time of year, part of me revels in the festive energy and the other part questions everything. The illusion of bliss. The inundation of advertisements and the lure of happiness from our highly commercialized society. The only thing that keeps me grounded is to focus on our Earth, to spend time outside—closer to the source, and to decorate with nature in mind, thinking through where all this “stuff” will end up after the

New Collection

2017-10-12

I’ve been experimenting with clay and fiber, moving away from metal, except for a few of my classic favorites. I’m working with natural dyes like madder root, cutch (an extract of the acacia tree) and marigold. I absolutely love the natural muted tones that come out of this process. I love the interest these necklaces add to a simple tee and jeans. Try one out for yourself! 1. Lunar Studs $32 2. Tiny Boob Studs $32 3. Madder Fiber and Clay
